Who writes this guide
The Highway 40 Desk is the collective name of this guide's editors. It is not a person, and it has no portrait. The guide has no affiliation with the resort, the Stoney Nakoda Nation or any gaming operator.
Nothing here works like a casino. The site takes no bets, opens no accounts and has no cashier. No forms wait to be filled in. Visits are counted quietly, without cookies, noting where a reader arrived from, and the statistics service also sees the IP address and browser. The calculators work inside the reader's browser and send nothing anywhere. A light or dark theme picked by the reader stays only in that browser tab, kept in sessionStorage.

Distances are straight lines between two map points, computed from OpenStreetMap. Calgary is measured from its downtown point. Road distance and driving time are longer and depend on the route, so the guide does not estimate them. For directions, it links to Google Maps.
Kananaskis and Calgary are on Mountain Time (America/Edmonton), and the calculators use that zone. They rely only on the hours and rules the resort publishes and on the times a reader enters. Travel times are not estimated, and no money won or lost is counted. No holiday hours or seasonal closures appear in what the resort publishes, so confirm holiday hours directly with the resort.
How the site is paid for
Only the front page of Kananaskis Casino Notes holds paid links, and every one is labelled Ad. About the pictures
An image generator produced these pictures: none was taken with a camera and no person is in them, though they resemble photographs. Three show the resort's buildings from outside: the front with its tower at dusk, the hotel wing on a winter morning and the casino block on a winter night. Each was generated after photographs taken outdoors on the grounds, so the real buildings appear without the images being photographs of them. The highway, the foothill grassland and the breakfast plate grew from a text prompt alone and do not show the resort. Hotel house rules forbid public or commercial use of photos or videos taken in the hotel, so no interior appears.
